CHEMUK, which takes place on 16th and 17th September 2020 at Event City in Manchester, will bring together the UK’s chemical processing and chemical product formulation industries, providing an intensive 2-day supply chain sourcing, business networking, intelligence gathering, best-practice and strategy development experience.
With an excess of 2,500+ specialist businesses contributing to the UK’s chemical industry – embracing raw materials, chemicals, equipment & apparatus, business services and much more, CHEMUK is the event where the UK’s chemical industries meet.
At last year’s CHEMUK event in Harrogate we kicked off our card for a contribution campaign raising money for Demleza Hospice Care, The Paula Carr Diabetes Trust and Eva’s Angels. All we asked was for a business card and in return for each card we made a donation of £1 to one of our chosen charities.
Back by popular demand we’ll be running the same campaign again this year for a further three charities chosen by an office poll. To donate, simply visit us on stand F5 and drop your business card into the pot of your selected charity. After the show we’ll then count up the cards and make a donation of that value to each charity.
The charities we’ll be supporting this year are:
Demelza Hospice Care for Children.
We included this charity last year but they do such great work we couldn’t not support them again. Demelza provides care and support for seriously ill children, young people and their families. Set up in 1994 they now have hospices spanning London and the South East of England as well as a large network of homecare services offering care and support to babies, children, young adults and their families. Visit their website.
St. John’s Ambulance.
St John Ambulance is the name of a number of affiliated organisations in different countries which teach and provide first aid and emergency medical services. Staffed primarily by volunteers and run predominantly on donations they provide a range of valuable services in the community such as first aid services and emergency response, first aid, health and safety and mental health training, specialist ambulance services, community support and youth programmes teaching important first aid skills. Visit their website.
Macmillan Cancer Support. Macmillan provides specialist health care, information and financial support to people affected by cancer. It also looks at the social, emotional and practical impact cancer can have, and campaigns for better cancer care. Their goal is to reach and improve the lives of everyone living with cancer in the UK. Visit their website.
