Ferric Sulphate
Iron (III) Sulphate Solution
Ferric Sulphate is a dark yellow/brown, acidic chemical agent with the chemical formula Fe2(SO4)3. It is generated from iron wastes and produced by a reaction of sulphuric acid and an oxidizing agent. It is notably corrosive to copper, copper alloys, mild and galvanised steel.
It is used as a coagulant in the water treatment industry, a pickle solution for stainless steel and copper, a fixant in the textile dyeing industry, a treatment in soil conditioning and is also used in the medical industry for its haemostatic ability.
