Sodium Percarbonate is a colourless, crystalline, hygroscopic and water-soluble solid. It is used in cleaning products and in textile and water treatment industries. Sodium Percarbonate is produced industrially by reaction of sodium carbonate and hydrogen peroxide, followed by crystallisation.

Sodium Percarbonate improves the performance of conventional detergents and shampoos on stubborn stains. It is a gentle stain remover for synthetic carpeting and upholstery fabrics and effective as a disinfectant on both bacteria and viruses. It is also used to treat biological upsets in ponds, treatment of sludges, municipal sewage treatment, dichlorination and water softening.
